Know what a full backup is for
A SnappyBox backup is designed to preserve your inventory: locations, boxes, items, photo information and optimised photo files. It is intended for restore, not just casual viewing.
This is different from a PDF report or CSV export. Reports are for reading and sharing. Backups are for getting your SnappyBox data back.

Back up before important moments
Create a backup before changing phones, reorganising a storage unit, moving home, deleting large sections or testing a major new setup.

Use names or notes that help you recognise the backup later, such as before move, before phone upgrade or storage unit review.
A backup gives you a fallback point. It is much easier to relax during a big storage project when you know the previous inventory is protected.

Store backup files carefully
A backup file may contain private names, notes and photos. Keep it somewhere you trust, such as your own device backup, private storage or a secure location you already use for important files.

Understand restore before you need it
A full restore replaces the current local SnappyBox data with the backup contents. That is useful after a device change or serious problem, but it should be done intentionally.
Before restoring, check that the backup file is the one you want and that you are comfortable replacing the current local inventory.
